In the United States, a bitter rivalry exists: Starbucks vs. Dunkin’ Donuts. Fans of Dunkin’ Donuts point to Dunkin’ Donuts’ affordability (and its donuts). Fans of Starbucks argue that Starbucks cafés have nicer atmospheres.

I love Dunkin’ Donuts, but the atmosphere of many Dunkin’ Donuts’ branches are simply bland and uninteresting. However, Dunkin’ Donuts’ 1021 South Main Street branch in Cheshire, Connecticut is cute and cozy. I visited with friends on December 29th.

I did not want to drink coffee, so I decided to order hot chocolate. There were three options: original, Oreo, and salted caramel. There was an option to have the hot chocolate on ice. I chose the hot version of the salted caramel hot chocolate.

This Dunkin’ Donuts has a cute little fireplace. I have never seen another Dunkin’ Donuts branch with one! It was nice to sit around the fireplace and talk with Mr. Z and his mother. They both ordered hot tea.

The salted caramel hot chocolate tasted amazing. If you like the combination of sweetness and saltiness, then this drink is for you. It was the perfect beverage for a cold December evening.

This Dunkin’ Donuts is my favorite branch I have ever been to. It is clean, the staff is very polite, and the fireplace is amazing. The salted caramel hot chocolate is a great winter drink, as well.
