Many towns in Connecticut are transforming. When manufacturing jobs left the state, local economies were hurt badly. The recession in 2008 made things worse. However, as towns recover, many are making worthwhile improvements. I lived in New London, Connecticut from 2011 through 2015, and the transformation was incredible. In the United States, a bitter rivalry exists: Starbucks vs. Dunkin’ Donuts. Fans of Dunkin’ Donuts point to Dunkin’ Donuts’ affordability (and its donuts). Fans of Starbucks argue that Starbucks cafés have nicer atmospheres.

Korean pizza is a hotly debated topic amongst Western expats living in South Korea. Korean pizza usually is sprinkled with all sorts of toppings, from bulgogi beef, sweet potato paste, French fries, shrimp, to, most controversially, kernels of corn. I hail from Connecticut, home of the United States’ top ranked pizza, but I have a soft side for Korean pizza. Due to the fact that I live in Dangsan, there are three great parks that are easily accessible: Hangang River Park, Saetgang Ecological Park, and Seonyudo Park. It goes without saying that the Seonyudo Park, which sits on an island in the Han River, is gorgeous. But, many people might not know that the Seonyudo Station area is really quaint.
